WELCOME TO DEADBALL
My name is Brad Hoen – ever since I was a kid I have loved baseball. I grew up drawing pictures of all my baseball cards, played baseball in high school, and now I coach my sons comp baseball team.
Deadball started initially when I went to Chalk the Block. I thought the art was so fun, that I decided to create my own baseball version. My son was just a little guy so I decided to put some artwork in his room, and make his room look like the green monster of Fenway.
A few years later I decided to turn this into a passion project, to create unique baseball art, decor, and apparel. The name Deadball refers to a few things:
- The “Dead Ball” era. I have always loved the vintage style and beginnings of baseball and design.
- In baseball, a “Dead Ball”, is when the game stops for a few different reasons including a hit by pitch, and when a hitter fouls the ball down onto his foot or leg. With the “Dead Ball” brand – I create eye catching art and apparel that makes you stop.
- I wanted a name that was easy to remember, and felt a little edgy. I think we got all three!
